Autumn has arrived. After our gorgeous autumn walk in 2018 we tried to repeat it in 2019. Our plan A was to go to the Achensee but there, the autumn brush was rather inactive. On our way to the Achensee we saw Indian summer forests near Kreuth so we returned to do a walk up the Rosstein and Buchstein. But it seemed that half of Munich had the same idea.
Here is Ana in the Indian summer forest during the ascent...
... and here a little bit higher.
The first part was in the forest but higher up the forest opened up with wide views over the Alps.
Here are the Rosstein and Buchstein (1701 m)...
... and here is a view towards the glen with the pyramid shaped limestone protusion that marks Kreuth.
The Rosstein and Buchstein is a climing venue. Here, some climbers.
In-between the two "Steins" is a mountain hut which was overflowing.
I did the stiff scramble to get another view of the Alps in the South towards Australia and Italy.
A great wee walk but try to do it when the Muenchen folk are busy elsewhere!
